Victorian Festival's royal launch QUEEN Victoria arrived at Eastbourne railway station on Saturday morning to mark the start of the town's Victorian Festival. The 'Queen', gracefully impersonated by Kath Clarke, travelled down from London Victoria to Eastbourne by train with a 17-strong entourage including Prince Albert (Don Clarke), her lone piper (Andrew Somerville), and a choir of ladies-in-waiting. She was seen off by crowds in front of the departure boards at Victoria Station before setting off for Eastbourne. The Queen was later chauffeured in an open top car to an afternoon concert at All Saints Chapel. The Eastbourne Victorian Festival continues until the end of this week.
