Bandstand Fans Have Their Say With more than 27,000 people turning out for the Bandstand concert season last year, friends and fans of Eastbourne Bandstand are being asked to give their views in 2008 in the venues biggest ever survey Between now and October, residents and visitors are being invited to take part in a survey to gauge their opinions on the historic seafront venue and what they think of its yearly entertainment programme. Eastbourne Borough Council are keen to find out exactly what types of concerts people would like to see at the Bandstand so that they can create the perfect entertainment programme and improve the service they offer, with everyone taking part having the chance to be entered into a draw to win an Ipod Nano. Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Cllr Steve Wallis said This survey is very significant for the Bandstand in 2008 and how it builds on and improves its current success for future years. We saw an incredibly successful season last year, with tribute nights outselling 2006 and takings up by a huge 66%. It is important that as many people as possible take part in this survey so that the Bandstand can continue to deliver an exciting and varied concert programme that appeals to both its existing fan base but to new audiences too. The survey is being carried out over an 8-month period with the first surveys already sent to the lifeblood of the Bandstand; those that are subscribed to Friends of Eastbourne Bandstand. The survey will then be rolled out to a larger audience throughout the coming months, closing on 31 October 2008. Friends of Eastbourne Bandstand are always first to receive the latest news and special offers on tickets. It is free to sign up and membership couldnt be easier. New members can sign up by e-mailing their details, including name and address, to [email protected] . Every Friend of Eastbourne Bandstand receives a privilege card giving discounted entry to Bandstand concerts and will receive regular newsletters giving detailed information on all the new and existing acts. The Bandstands calendar is set to be huge in 2008, with an 18-week season confirmed including three Military Band weeks in July, August, and September. The popular tribute nights will return with some new acts signed up, guaranteed to attract even larger audiences, and the spectacular 1812 Firework concerts are back every Wednesday throughout the summer. Check out the Bandstand website for more details on the programme. |
