Redrow Joins the Jet Set Airbourne: Eastbourne International Airshow looks set to enjoy its best ever flying programme this year, with Redrow Homes joining the sponsors line up from 12 15 August. Airbourne: Eastbourne International Airshow looks set to enjoy its best ever flying programme this year, with Redrow Homes joining the sponsors line up from 12 15 August. The biggest free airshow in the South, sponsored by csma (Civil Service Motoring Association) is expecting more fast jets than ever before, including the RAF Jaguar GR3 display, sponsored on all four days by Redrow Homes. Fast jet fans can also look forward to the Tornado GR4, Harrier, Hawk and Red Arrows displays from the Royal Air Force, along with two F16s, and a Fouga Magister from the Belgian and Royal Netherlands Air Forces. This years Jaguar display is flown by Flight Lieutenant James Turner from No 16(R) Squadron at RAF Coltishall. The squadron originally formed at St Omer in France in 1915, from which it picked up the popular nickname, The Saints, now wears the Saint badge on the aircraft today. The Jaguar started life off as a requirement by the British and French for an advanced trainer and tactical support aircraft. However, the performance of the aircraft was so good it became a fully fledged fighter-bomber. The GR3 represents an upgrade, which will eventually allow the use of the ASRAAM, a new cockpit and a helmet mounted sight capability into the 30 year old design. James and his crew will be visiting new Redrow Homes development, The Boardwalk on Saturday 14th August at their launch party following the Jaguar display, and will be signing autographs. The new development which opens during the airshow, will be showcasing waterside apartments at Sovereign Harbour, including 18 top-of-the-range penthouses. For all those attending the launch, it includes the chance to win a helicopter pleasure flight and VIP tickets to Airbournes Sunset Finale at the Bandstand on Sunday evening. Paul Moran, Sales Director of Redrow Homes (Southern), commented We are delighted to be involved with the Airbourne event, which brings hundreds of thousands of people to Eastbournes waterfront and is a fabulous occasion for the town. Our development at Sovereign Harbour, The Boardwalk, enjoys a prominent waterside position and is a great vantage point to view the many displays that will be taking place. Eastbourne Borough Council, Cabinet Spokesman for Tourism, Councillor David Elkin said We are delighted that Redrow have offered sponsorship of the RAF Jaguar for 2004. Their company has long been associated with quality new home development in Eastbourne and it is exciting that their newest launch coincides with Airbourne. Airshow fans can also look forward to regular autograph sessions at the Airbourne arena on all four days, with the chance to meet pilots or listen to exclusive interviews on Radio Airbourne 87.7FM. On Saturday 14th August it also includes an autograph session with the Red Arrows team as they visit Eastbourne to celebrate their 40th display season. Airbourne returns from 12 15 August and is open from 10am to 6pm each day. For further information on Airbourne visit www.eastbourneairshow.com or telephone 01323 411400. |
