Jingle All The Way Down Eastbourne Seafront With the Santa Fun Run
Hundreds of Santas will be running and walking down Eastbournes seafront on 1 December for the charity Santa Fun Run.
Last year, 340 Santas took part in the run, raising a fantastic 15,000 for Myasthenia Gravis Association (MGA), a charity helping with vital work for a rare muscle weakness disease.

Santas of all ages are invited to Jingle all the way along the 3 mile route from the Sovereign Centre to Holywell Tea Chalet where they will be rewarded with a hot drink and mince pie. Everyone taking part in this fun Christmas event received their own Santa suit to wear on the day and to keep.

Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism and Leisure, Cllr Carolyn Heaps said The Santa Fun Run is a fantastic event to start the festive season, raising vital funds for MGA. It is always great to see families of young and old running and walking the length of the promenade in their Santa suits!

This year, runners and walkers will receive a very exclusive and unique souvenir medal, which will double up as a Christmas tree decoration by removing the clip on the ribbon. Each medal will also be engraved on the back to acknowledge your participation in the event and to thank everyone for taking part and completing the Christmas challenge.

The target is to have as many entrants as last year and to raise even more funds for the charity. This will mean MGA can continue to expand its vital work in providing care and support to those people living with Myasthenia and funding research, as well as to find out what causes MG and to find a cure for this very rare muscle weakness disease.

Registration is 10 for adults and 5 for children (16 and under). The Santa Fun Run and walk is a sponsored event and registration fee only goes towards covering part of the costs of staging the event. By registering, walkers and runners agree to raise as much sponsor money as possible for the charity MGA. Full information for the day, including sponsor forms will be sent out as soon as registration is complete. Following this, Santa suits may be collected from the Central Library, Grove Road, BN21 4TL, which is open until 6.30pm weekdays and until 5pm on Saturdays.

To register for the Santa Fun Run and Walk online, go to www.sovereignfm.com or call Steve 01273 581087 . Registration closes at 5pm on Monday 25 November or as soon as capacity is filled.
