Eastbourne firefighters' climb raises almost 38k FIREFIGHTERS from Eastbourne have handed over a charity cheque for almost 38,000 which they raised by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro The team did the charity climb earlier this year for Help for Heroes and the charity's co-ordinator Jane Willing was in Eastbourne last week to receive the cheque from Chief Fire Officer Des Prichard. The chief fire officer thanked all the supporters present, climbers and all the representatives from local businesses. Jane Willing gave an interesting update on the projects which Help for Heroes is funding. Among the guests was Sophie Parry, whose parents started the charity in 2007 and who also climbed Kilimanjaro last year. Also attending were representatives from the many local businesses which have supported the team of firefighters during the fundraising. The fundraising team is now looking at the next project which will take place in 2012 and also raise cash for Help for Heroes |
