Christmas Magic sparkles this weekend Donations from the weekend will go to St Wilfrid's Hospice to help with the care and support of patients and their families More than 30 stalls will be in the pedestrian precinct offering a huge range of local produce and Christmas goods. FathADVERTISEMENT er Christmas will be parading through the town centre on both days starting at 11.15am on Saturday at Bankers Corner, and on Sunday at 11.15am from TJ Hughes. Families can visit Santa at his brand new magical grotto at Bonners Music Store in Langney Road. The Southern FM-Bonners Roadshow will also be at Bankers Corner on Saturday from 10.30am till 2.30pm with fun, music and competitions for all the family. And you can take a ride on a traditional carousel outside Marks and Spencer. On Sunday Sovereign Radio will be paying a visit to the town centre and talking with shoppers and stallholders at the market. Shoppers are invited to join in a treasure hunt, with a chance to win one of three teddy bears displayed in Perfect Homes' window by the entrance to the Arndale Centre. To enter, you must find all 26 St Wilfrid's Hospice stickers on items displayed in the shop windows. Participating shops are listed on the entry form available from Bonners Music Store, Langney Road or St Wilfrid's Hospice Shop in Terminus Road. Completed forms should be dropped off at either of those two shops or into the post box in the Arndale Centre, next to the Christmas display in the main square. Town centre shops and businesses will be entering into the spirit of the occasion with staff choosing a fancy dress theme for the weekend and raising money for St. Wilfrid's with collection boxes and raffle tickets. There is entertainment inside the Arndale Centre between 10am and each day 4pm. On Saturday attractions include Charlie the Clown, Claire's Facepainting, the Living Statue and Story Telling with Derek Legg. The Phoenix Singers will be entertaining from 10.30am to 12noon. Sunday's attractions are Mr Chrimbo, Claire's Facepainting and the Living Statue. On Saturday the Tollgate School Choir will be singing outside the St Wilfrid's Terminus Road shop, and on Sunday there is a gospel choir and by, special demand, Patsy, who will be singing at TJ Hughes from 12 � 2pm |
