Sponsored walk raises �1,270 Eastbourne building company Rok presented a cheque for �1,270.25 to help fund a new �5m residential care unit for youngsters with learning difficulties. Rok held a 14-mile sponsored walk along the Seven Sisters and back to raise the money in aid of the JPK Project. Rok Eastbourne area leader Nic Clark said, "We are thrilled to be doing our bit to help deliver this exciting and important project for Eastbourne. "I'd like to say a big thanks to all who took part in the walk and for helping to raise so much." Jill Parker, project co-ordinator of The JPK Project, and two members of the charity took part in the sponsored walk. Jill said, "We are extremely grateful to Rok in Eastbourne for organising this fundraising event for The JPK Project and for the support of yet another local organisation to help us raise the funds needed to purchase the land and build this essential residential centre for people with a learning disability." |
