The Mayor of Eastbourne will be donating the final tree to any local park on Monday 8 March at 10.30 in Hampden Park.

The last donation will signal the end of a highly successful donation tree planting scheme that has produced approx. 200 new trees for Eastbourne parks. It also brings to an end this years exceptional tree planting season which has seen in total 880 new trees planted in various locations all over Eastbourne

Mayor of Eastbourne, Councillor Olive Woodall who will be planting an Oak tree on the northern side of the lake said. Trees are very important, not only for their beauty, but for the benefit they bring to environment in helping to clean the air. This is a beautiful well tended park with many fine trees that people from all over Eastbourne and visitors enjoy walking among.

Members of the public can still donate trees and they will be planted in highway open spaces as the towns parks are now full and cannot accommodate any more trees.
