Christmas in Eastbourne From traditional Christmas pantos to visits from Santa; poignant Christmas Day bandstand concerts to outstanding ballet; Eastbourne has everything you can imagine to ensure you have a very merry Christmas this winter. From late November, Eastbourne�s theatres are packed with festive performances to suit all ages, Christmas Magic gets going in the town centre on December 4 with music and fireworks and late-night shopping kicks off every Thursday throughout December. Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Councillor David Elkin said, �Christmas is a great time of year to visit Eastbourne, with so much going on at the theatres, traditional festivities in the town centre and wonderful performances at the bandstand. It is the perfect time for everyone to get together and is a real treat for the residents and visitors who all choose Eastbourne over the Christmas period�. Eastbourne�s four theatres are hosting a range of festive and traditional performances throughout the season including The True Spirit of Christmas at the Winter Garden, Carols by Candlelight, Rockin� around the Christmas tree and the St. Petersburg Ballet performances of Swan Lake on and The Nutcracker at the Congress Theatre. For children, the Christmas pantomime Sleeping Beauty performs throughout December at the Devonshire Park Theatre, there is Santa�s Specials Weekend at Eastbourne Miniature Steam Railway and Santa�s Christmas Cottage at Drusilla�s park. At the beautiful 1930�s seafront Bandstand, there�s a traditional and free concert with musical entertainment from the Eastbourne Silver Band on Christmas Day and on Boxing Day 'Sounds Easy' perform Christmas hits for all ages to come and dance along to. |
